Billowing sails to Copenhagen
When you arrive at Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup Lufthavn, you can step right into history and, under billowing sails, enjoy a relaxed historic transfer right into the city centre.
A very short ride – by veteran motor coach or a fleet of veteran cars, if you wish – from the airport’s arrival terminal will drop you in the recently modernised Scanport, where our historic schooner, “Halmø” is tied up and waiting for you.
“Halmø” is a magnificent, two masted schooner built in 1900 by the master shipbuilder Rasmus Møller and painstakingly preserved over the last 100+ years.
Once you are on board, the leading seaman will loosen the hawser and, as the beautiful ship glides slowly out of the harbour, your skipper will briefly recount her history and tell you a little about the highlights in store during the cruse.
An experience for life on your Airport Transfer
A transfer trip from Scanport to the centre of Copenhagen is indeed an experience with a difference – no longer mere transportation from A to B but a wonderful start to a stay in Copenhagen. En route you will sail along the coast of the Sound and see major sights such as The Blue Planet – northern Europe’s largest and most modern aquarium – and the impressive 17½ km long Øresund Bridge that links Denmark to Sweden
Once the course has been set, if you are hiding a dormant mariner, the skipper will almost certainly let you join the crew in hoisting and trimming the sails – a task which can be a real fun, shared experience and there is hardly anything more satisfying than seeing the breeze fill the schooner’s sails. And think of the mariner’s tales you can tell your landlubber friends!!
Enhance your trip
“Halmø” has a super galley and a very comfortable saloon, so light refreshments are always a possibility. These could range from coffee, tea and cookies to reception style finger food with sparkling wine, soft drinks and cool Danish beer. You could even transform the trip into a champagne transfer!! All of this could be enjoyed on deck with fresh, sea air and to the accompaniment of the gentle lapping of the water against the bow or in the cosy, maritime atmosphere of the saloon.
Arrival after Transfer from Copenhagen Airport
After 2½ hours, the wind turbines just outside the entrance to Copenhagen Harbour indicate that you will soon step ashore in Wonderful Copenhagen and as you pass through the harbour, highlights on shore will include the Little Mermaid (although you will probably need a binocular to see her!!), the Royal Palace, the Opera House and the Marble Church.
“Halmø” is moored at her berth on the Admiral Quay, within hailing distance of the Royal Palace, Amalienborg.

Practical note:
Your luggage will be taken to your hotel by the motor coach that transported you to Scanport and, if you are not staying at the waterfront Copenhagen Admiral Hotel, the motor coach will also pick you up for the short ride to your hotel. The Schooner can also tie up in front of the Marriott and Copenhagen Island Hotel.
